Meet Capt' Kip and Pixie
These playful creatures spent their early days as part of a ride at the iconic Pixieland amusement park in Otis, Oregon, just 3 miles north of Lincoln City. Opened in 1969, Pixieland was the ‘Fairytale story of Oregon’.
After Pixieland closed in 1973, the amusement park rides were sold off to private parties. The Anchor Inn Resort purchased these nostalgic pieces of Oregon Coast history in 2019 and worked with Scott Smith and Chris Thompson at Tom Smith Fiberglass to restore them.
In early 2020, they began their migration back to the Oregon Coast. But first, they spent some time in the vineyards at Hayworth Estates and at their wine bar in Coburg tasting some of Oregon’s finest wines. Then, they made a quick stop at Coburg Pizza for a bite to eat, and visited the Bling Barn antique store to see some friends. Last fall, they popped into the pumpkin patch and took part in a parade before making their way to the coast. They stopped in Depoe Bay to see some of their fellow whale friends, and then arrived at their final destination - the Anchor Inn Resort.
Captain Kip and Pixie are here to welcome you aboard at the Anchor Inn Resort. They live in our spacious open courtyard and provide hours of entertainment (and some sweet photo ops) for kids and adults alike.
